Gary: MHTI is a fully owned subsidiary of UMSI (I think that's the proper term). The bulk of UMSI's revenues come from MHTI.
All: Mr. Zani has been in London for the last five days working out details on a recent purchase of a CT machine. Let me start off by saying that Mr. Zani sounded a little perturbed by me (understandable
since I left a message on his voice mail to get his attention). I feel kinda bad about it now, but it did serve it's purpose. Anyway he was ver talkative and I did apologize. He called back before I got everyone's questions, so I don't have all the answers. First question of course was WHEN will the financials be released. The answer was Dec. 15th. Not only will the 10k be released but also the first 10Q of fiscal 98. I asked why the delay. The delay was due to the fact that this was their first filing and there was a lot of back and forth between the auditor, the SEC and the company. I accept this explanation for as I pointed out a while back it is more frequent than not that company's that are filing their first 10k are late because it is a new experience for them and the are not familiar with it.
About the law suit by the former CEO of MHTI. The suit is in preliminary stages. The lawyers are gathering informaton, reading reports and evaluating the whole thing - so it's just getting started.
UMSI believes that the case will never make it to court (I wouldn't expect them to say differently).
I asked how the Asian market situation would affect their business
over there. He said it would not. China and Taiwan's economies are very strong and booming and this is the focus of their marketing. He informed me that China has 70,000 hospitals of which the majority use 1950's and 60's technology and there is plenty of money.
I asked also what stage the "N-frared" technology was in. Mr. Zani simply said he could not comment on it legally but the answer would be in the filings. (I hope this means good news)
I asked why the stock price is plummeting and he said he has no idea. Nothing has changed for the company; their plans are all still on track.
I also asked about what direction the company might go in quest of getting a NASDAQ listing. His answer was simply UMSI will do their thing and the stock price will take care of itself. (I liked that answer)
My over-all opinion of our conversation was pretty uplifting, especially considering that he sounded really pissed at me through the
bulk of the conversation. Mr. Zani and Mr. Baker have been across seas quite a bit in the last month. I just wish that the receptionist would be more precise because "away from the office" and "not in the office"
is a little vague. If anyone has any questions fire away and maybe I'll recall more. Mostly we talked about the Asian market situation
and the lack of communication with investors. Also I remember someone talking about machines in Taiwan. UMSI is currently installing three machines presently in Taiwan. Anyway, if the financials are 75% of what I expect I will be doing some discount shopping. I WILL NOT BUY ANYMORE HOWEVER UNTIL I SEE THOSE FINANCIALS!

Sincerely,
Hraka

and the stock price will take care of itself.
