Ian, yes I meant to type PSR not PSE. But on the microcaps my recollection is that O'Shaughnessy reported them highest as having the highest rate of return, while adding the caveat that fund managers could not practically hold microcaps (<$25m). Does not mean an individual couldn't hold microcaps, especially now that diminished spreads and diminished commissions are making them more liquid, and the in and out price is less of a drag on return. O'Shaughnessy reported midcaps had lower long term return than big caps and small caps. The Dow's outperforming the average mutual fund is consistent with that.
