I use ESET NOD 32 antivirus, and when the OS is out of date, as in updates, the icon on the taskbar turns yellow to alert you. Sometimes it turns yellow a day before I get my update(s). This happens on the XP machine and Windows 7.

Even when XP is off support from MS, you can still use the computer, MSSE will still give you updates, you just won't get any other operating system updates from MS.

I bet a pile of people will still be using XP once support ends. It's not the end of the world. I would not have any problems using my XP machine if it's still working when support ends.
