Letterman had a list of ONLY 70 school shootings in the last few years

The subtext that a lot of folks are trying to raise is that it is only because of these sensational cases that the topic is even in the news

There are thousands of shooting deaths a year that are simply ignored

If we can't marshall some political will out of a horror show like Sandy Hook, we are a sorry excuse for a civilized country
