Petition calls for deportation of CNN's Piers Morgan after attacks on Second Amendment.

CNN's Piers Morgan is upset over a petition at the White House web site calling for his deportation, Twitchy reported Saturday.

"Ironic U.S. gun rights campaign to deport me for 'attacking 2nd Amendment rights' - is my opinion not protected under 1st Amendment rights?" he tweeted.

The petition, created on Friday, cites his relentless attacks on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

"British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment," the petition reads. "We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."

The petition was started by "Kurt N" of Austin, Tex. and already has over 8,900 signatures. A threshold of 25,000 signatures is required for White House action. The Blaze identified the petition creator as possibly being "Kurt Nimmo of the website infowars.com."

Morgan, who is a British citizen, has repeatedly attacked the NRA and members of the gun lobby since the tragic Newtown school shootings. In a recent exchange, he berated an advocate of gun rights as " stupid."

Twitchy, a web site that dubbed the CNN talk show host "Musket Morgan," said the anti-Second Amendment pundit is "beside himself over this assault on his First Amendment rights."

"Evidently he still doesn’t get how these constitutional amendment thingies work," Twitchy added.

" @piersmorgan you're attacking the 2nd Amendment. How are you any different from them?" one person asked.

"It is truly ironic that you use your rights under the First in an effort to deny me mine under the Second," another person added.

Adding insult to injury, Twitchy said that some in the U.K. are "not particularly eager to by Text-Enhance">get him back across the pond."

"Please don't deport Piers Morgan. We don't want that slimy git back," tweeted "Fran."

" @piersmorgan is there a petition we can sign to keep you in America away from us?" another person asked.

"Please keep him in the US," added "Jay Nathan."

On Friday, Morgan called the NRA agenda " murderous" and appeared to encourage violence against the pro-Second Amendment group.

“This is your moment, America: The #NRA has 4 million members, your population is 311 million. Don’t stand for this murderous c**p any more,” he tweeted.
