The first thing I thought of when you hear this "cost" excuse is look at air travel.

The TSA and all the crap and money wasted didn't phase the left, it suited their control agenda. Take some of that TSA and Homeland Security monies passed out and secure the schools.

I would hope we value children more than we do the subsidized airline industry.
