Howzit Bob?
I'm also a Merill Lynch customer and also saw the report (as well as another positive one today on the Empire Interactive relationship). Their PC analyst, Lucianne Painter, has been very positive on GTIS ever since the meltdown. One of her recurring arguments for a higher price is GT's extremely low valuation relative to its peers (ERTS, etc.) Although I'm getting a bit tired of hearing it, this argument remains compelling.
The figures on sales activity and reorders for Duke, TA, Abe, etc. seem to come from her own conversations with management. After seeing the numerous posts for best selling game software charts though, it sometimes seems a bit incredulous.... Nonetheless, this particular analyst does seem to be quite good---she has been quite right with Dell, Compaq, EA etc. over the past few years.
Merrill Lynch has been consistently backing this stock and with two very positive reports in two days, it seems they're turning up the heat a bit. ML's strength is in the institutional market, and if institutional orders start coming in, this stock's move will be fast and furious on the upside. Here's wishing a Merry Xmas and an even happier New Year to all of us.
Aloha and happy investing,
Da Zipstah
p.s. (and a caveat) I'm an investor, not a gamer, and know little about specific game software titles. Thank you all for making it all a little bit more real and understandable. Keep the opinons coming...
