As I say I have to defer to Jeff. That's what I understand top end is, 3MB/s. Whatever the usual attainable speed is is probably dictated by the remote site, I would suppose. If NASD sends out data at the same speed you got it. If SI sends at 256 you got it...I don't know. The limiting factor, whatever it is, sure does not seem to be on this end.

Same deal here. I live in Montclair...there aren't any towns around me that have it. Even the installer was complaining he can't get it.

I paid $95 for installation....that included a ethernet card.

$39 a month is higher than the ISPs I use that are not as reliable. But a hell of a lot cheaper than ISDN. And, I can use ISDN as backup using the minimum monthly charge. But even with ISDN I'd have to use both channels....you seem to only use one so your cost is marginally lower than mine would be.

My plans are to boot out BMI's cable modem, throw live quotes on this one, and get ISDN to back it up.....I'd use ISDN on other equipment unless I needed it. Meanwhile because quotes would be involved I'd need both channels. But of course that would be switchable so I could use 56K on each of 2 other devices and go to 112 if I needed it to replace the cable.

I think I got all that right. Satellite feeds and FM feeds are for the birds. Worst feed I ever had was satellite.

I might take the kid to COMDEX next year...I imagine he'd like it.
