<<Someone bought today over 4,000 Dec $40 puts>>. If this was purely put buying, that seems to be a extremely high risk trade with not a great reward for such risk. Of course assuming, pure speculation with no inside information, but even inside information sometimes blows up if options expires before your "inside" news becomes public knowledge. Buying the puts, risked approx. $1.2 million that could have went to zero to make 2.8 mill. Could have made the same amount by shorting 312,000 shares, and more safer, because you don't have to worry about expiration within a few weeks as long as the stock didn't explode $10 higher that's less likely.
But definitely begs of an investigation, eh ?
