The issue is NOT so much that people are anti government or anti tax - it's that they believe we shouldn't be recklessly spending way more than we conceivably have the ability to pay back. Since alllllllllllllll their effort in the past has done nothing to move the needle on debt, they in frustration, have elected what we collectively call today the Tea Party. If that were the case, they would vote for these various mixes of revenue increases and spending cuts that have been on the table. I don't think, thus, the deficit/debt is their issue. Most of them are either willingly in the camp of anti-government folk or are dupes of that camp. Pick your poison.
