"Trolls" of any ilk ...

Tj,

Your first post to this new board was, IMO, superb. Your sentiments mirror mine to a great degree, and they were stated very clearly and very articulately. Like you I seldom use the term "[Internet] Troll" (as opposed to a patent troll e.g.). Like you I find that the majority of individuals who participate actively on SI company discussion boards, regardless of trading or investment experience are well-intentioned and participate here to learn from and share with others.

When I encounter an individual on an SI subject board that I moderate or regularly read and/or actively participate on, who lacks objectivity, disrupts the flow of the board, or disparages other individuals the term "Troll" immediately crosses my mind even if I seldom verbalize it.

Earlier this year I read what I thought was an exceptional article on the subject of internet trolling titled "Why People Troll and How to Stop Them." It was written by Howard Fosdick, an IT Management Consultant and contributing editor of OS News. I posted it in its entirety on a board I moderate and those that have an interest in the general subject of this board (i.e. Internet Trolling by the nutball fringe of any persuasion, not just an anti-Apple crusader) may wish to read it at the link below ...

Our host has stated "For those of us who are AAPL investors, Apple trolls have always been a bit of a mystery." ... Personally and as an Apple investor but one who has never purchased or owned an Apple product I've often wondered what motivates ANY "[Internet] Troll" not just an "Apple Troll."

Like you "I won't name those that many would consider trolls," and for the most part I'll simply observe what transpires here to see if anything constructive is posted.

Cheers,

- Eric -
