AAPL troll Hall of Fame nominee #1

Monty Gabrys and his "Apple Doomsday Clock".

About two years of Monty's "Apple Doomsday Clock" work is archived at geekforce's website. You can find it here:

geekforce.com

He was an honorable troll. He didn't hide behind an alias, he posted using his real name.

He was a skilled troll. He was knowledgeable about tech and had multiple graphics and artistic skills. His main business at that time was providing balloon displays. Seriously.

His spelling and composition weren't at a professional level, but he made up for that by putting so much energy and creativity into his Apple-bashing.

Creating his own site, naming it "Apple Doomsday Clock" and using his real name put him on a level way above that of the typical anonymous trolls the internet is infested with now.

I read all his stuff back then, having bought AAPL at a split-adjusted $7.25. I wanted to monitor his rants, just in case he ever came up with something negative about Apple that might have some validity.

He never did, and I still have the stock.

After all those years of hating all things Apple 24/7, what do you suppose Monty's up to these days?

He's on Flickr. If you look at his photostream, you'll see he's still providing balloon displays. Seriously.

But another element seems to have worked its way into his life.

His evolution from dedicated Apple-basher to proud iPad owner is not something that would surprise anyone who has used Apple products.

Is there anyone else here who remembers Monty or any other trolls from the 90's?
