Hi Mark, Welcome to the thread! We need to have a few more converted "lurkers" to make themselves known to the rest of the group... the more the merrier. Regarding the news you brought about the inclusion of the Zip in the new Compaq 233 Mhz box (and for only $1,299... thats a fantastic price!) it looks like the next move by KE and Company will be the get the standard (ATAPI) Zips down to such a low price to OEMs of computers in this price range and especially in the sub-$1000 boxes, that most companies will put in a Zip and a 1.44 floppy without even thinking about it. It is in IOMEGA's business plan to market a less costly Zip drive with new "Zip on a Chip" electronics and motor controller, and when this happens sales will really take off. The inclusion of a 1.44 floppy will probably have to continue for a while until the Zip population gets to a reasonable proportion of the new computers on the market, but ultimately the bootable Zip will be the only floppy drive needed! By that time the cost to OEMs will be down to about 25 bucks or who knows, maybe less (Remember the money to be made is in Disk Sales) This thing could really take off, as the "below $1000 systems" are where the money will be made selling to the mass market (new users and folks who get tired of sharing the family computer)... I can easily see two and three computer families in the near future because everyone wants to be "on the net" at the same time. The telephone companies are gonna love this new develoment too. You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet!! Just wait, til this time next year... "The Year of the Zip and Clik! is right around the corner... Here's to higher volume and 37 by the end of the week... Mel
