O.K., i assume you know we have made all moves planned EXCEPT for a non CF outfielder.
Reason--in the free agency beyond Hamilton there was no one of value, and Angels have now joined Dodgers in spending wildly----so they outbid everybody for Hamilton. All others got contracts well above what makes sense, such as Swisher and Victorino.
This indicates why there will be no added Outfielder, via trade:we simply can't outbid others with prospects: to have Stanton(at age 23, would a FANTASTIC, but it won't happen.)
We are going ride with Brown/Ruf/Mayberry and Nix and pray:)
This sums it up best i think.
<<It's impossible to even speculate on a potential trade package for Stanton because the Phillies just don't have the pieces. If Amaro were somehow able to pull this rabbit out of his hat, give the man a lifetime contract and a new wing in the Hall of Fame just for him.
Stanton is the type of trade target that comes around once every… never. It would be like trading a 23-year-old Albert Pujols or Alex Rodriguez. It just doesn't happen.

Somehow, though, the idea of Stanton being on the trading block doesn't seem so farfetched. He is unhappy with the Marlins, who are under the microscope after trading half their roster in exchange for a few thousand more empty seats at their new ballpark, so perhaps it would be best for both parties to go their separate ways.

Amaro says he is comfortable with the roster as it stands, and I believe him. I might even say I agree. There is young upside to this team with Ruf, Revere and Brown coupled with veterans who aren't far removed from their former dominance.">>

For me whether we are in fight for playoffs or Diviosion Champion rides on only about 15 things falling in place--yikes.

First foremost the talk Utley is healthy and ready to play a whole season isn't just a bunch of hot air.

That Lannan, who was 3-13 against Phillies bbut had a winning record if you subtract the Phillies OWNED him.

Mystery, no one is talking about Kendrick big improvement last year---like he is a negative--i ask, is he a negative?

Dreams: Ruf turns out to a 25/26 year old Stanton(Stanton when he connect is like Mickey Mantle--the only many to come with 6 inches of hitting ball out the old Yankee Stadium--no baseball ever got out Yankee Stadium--the ball Mantle hit could have been the longest HR ever--what the longest is remains argument--heard people claim Babe Ruth blast of 575 feet--but know proof.

That Haladay returns to 2011 form. That Howard gives us 140 RBIs, that Michael Young plays like a Jeter(Jeter career has been incredible!)--and you can think 2-3 years.

Adams should be fine as his operation for a rare syndrome was a success(He pitched last year with his pitching fingers losing feeling until they had no feeling) Solution, remove one particular rib from is chest--like i say, it was Rare.

It's goodbye to Polanco, but his bad back isn't going to go away.

i hope Galvis makes a full comeback and wil be ready to give Utley and Amaro days off.

On paper Phils are behind Braves and Washington--but every thing that could go wrong last year , DID GO WRONG.

So we shall see, Jerry:)Max'es pre-springtraining report:) is finished.--- i am not checking for typos, sorry:)
