Wow Steve! Not only is your charity pick a great surprise, but you’re being exceptionally thoughtful and generous. By focusing on a relatively small number of students/scholars, the East Bay College Fund has made an enormous positive difference in the lives of the almost 200 young people selected for the program. I was introduced to the founders of EBCF, Andy & Barb Fremder, by a mutual friend. They are wonderful people who decided to give back more than just money, but their time and skills to start a unique & successful scholarship/mentoring program. I’ve also met some of the volunteer mentors and students and was enormously impressed. Best wishes for a healthy, prosperous & joyful 2013! Bulba P.S. Am glad Tekmira did well for you in both the Contest and real world. I first bought the stock pre-merger (when it was Inex) and have had my ups and downs but, fortunately, far more ups. And I’ll probably pick it for my 2013 Contest portfolio.
