Was your "parent" a crack whore? Were you so poorly nourished your intelligence was affected? Were you physically abused as a child, or neglected? Did you live in an area where you never saw working adults?

There are children in our inner cities putatively "raising" children- though I can't say I think that term really applies.

There are certainly ways to help the children there, but they aren't the ways that helped you (50 years ago, was it, that you grew up there?)
