Evernote Cloud based Notetaking and Infomation Management Software and Services (new SI Subject/Board) ...
Subject 59076
For those not familiar with it Evernote is a cloud based suite of software and services designed for notetaking, archiving and synchronization across multiple services. It currently boasts 30 million users. The Evernote suite is a "unified collection of apps that help people remember everything, get things done and communicate effectively." Evernote's competitors include Microsoft OneNote and several other applications and services.
An Evernote "note" can be a piece of formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten "ink" note. Notes can also have file attachments. Notes can be sorted into folders, then tagged, annotated, edited, given comments, searched and exported as part of a notebook. Evernote supports a number of operating system platforms (including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Chrome OS, Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and WebOS), and also offers online synchronization and backup services.
I'm a novice Evernote user that just started using the free software and services last week. I've installed it on 2 Windows 7 desktops and a Win XP laptop and synchronize across them. To say I like Evernote, and intend to use it as a productivity and organizational tool is an understatement. It's a simple but deceptively powerful software suite and I intend to become proficient in its use relatively quickly.
I just created a new Evernote SI discussion board and some here may be interested in joining in discussion of Evernote and/or competitive software and/or services (Microsoft's OneNote e.g.). The Evernote subject board is here and linked above at the beginning of this post. The board is open to Evenotet users or non-users who are considering using it, as well as users of competitive software and/or services (Microsoft's OneNote e.g.) wishing to discuss the product(s) and service(s) and share experiences.
