"no more so than the message that all we have to do is tax the rich more and debt goes away" The ONLY people saying that are Republican ideologues, making a defense for their wealthy funders out of the false argument that that step doesn't solve the entire problem, so therefore, shouldn't be considered. No (D) and certainly not Obama is making that argument. So, you should just get off it, Steve. It's a logically flawed proposition. Raising taxes is just as valid a way to cut the debt as cutting spending. Both need to be part of the solution. CUTTING taxes in relatively good times CREATED the lion's share of debt!
