I think redistricting should be turned over to impartial computers and software. They are already used by the current redisticters to gerrymander, by carving out districts based on majority party affiliation.

Software could easily take Census data and create districts based on nothing but having equal numbers of people in them, without any gerrymandering at all. Make the code and algorithms public, so anyone could check them for any bias.
