Hey Dew, my main reason for selecting XOMA is primarily due to the Servier collaboration, and no program in particular. My statement was:

"All about the Servier collaboration on gevokizumab and the partner is an expert in ACS"

Here I wanted to point out that Servier in the cardiovascular world is a top notch developer. I have worked with them on a couple of projects in the past, and I know several of the division heads. Servier does not have a great internal pipeline, and that is why it has entered into several collaborations lately. The cardiovascular group is headed by Jean-Paul Vilaine, the person that was key to the discovery and development of both perindopril (long acting ACE inhibitor) and ivabridine (a "funny" channel inhibitor -the channel is highly expressed in the SA node). They always have extensive preclinical data to support clinical development, as the EMEA requires solid preclinical data to support development in a specific indication (FDA not as stringent on the preclinical data requirement but must have plausibility). However, they will be quiet about much of their preclinical data til after Ph 2 efficacy is attained. Nothing better for XOMA than a collaboration partner highly committed to the clinical development plans.

Having said this and seeing this as one of your picks, I look forward to our discussions going forward. :- )

It would have been nice to see a blurb by each entrant as to why they chose their picks.
