I use a Sun Sniper strap, which is great for walking around and quickly getting a shot. But it's not great for scrambling over rocks, etc. because the camera isn't restrained. The cross straps are much more comfortable than neck straps, transferring the load from your neck to your shoulder. This is a review of several others:

Maybe one has a restraint that would keep the camera from swinging when hiking on rough terrain. Otherwise, probably a harness would be best.
