You both have been deprived and just don't know it. Like when I watch those poor souls in the south and east coast having to pick through those tiny little blue crabs, so desperate they even have deluded themselves into thinking soft shell crabs are a treat. Having to eat the shell just to get a decent sized bite of crab.
