From Briefing: 08:45 ET 3Com Corp (COMS) 35 5/16: With shares indicated to open anywhere from 3 1/2 pts to 5 pts lower, BA Robertson Stephens is making a bold call. While cutting its FY98 estimate by 45% to $1.12 a share and its FY99 view by 19% to $2.24, the firm is also raising its investment rating to "buy" from "hold." Seeming to be in agreement that bottom has been reached is Bear Stearns, which maintains its "buy" rating on the stk.
