Yes I have noticed the phenomenom you describe. However, I believe it was back in September that the stock had a drastic fall one day, only to be followed by a drastic rise the next with no news (at least not made available to the masses). I think the stock market in general, and small cap stocks in particular, are like gambling and casinos. If you play the game long enough, the house always wins!

At the present, most of the small cap stocks I follow are down, some at or near their 52 week low. I read a news article yesterday that said investors are nervous about another market correction/crash. Therefore, investment dollars are flowing into the blue chips which are more liquid, i.e., investors can pull out quickly at the first hint of the next panic.
