I'm not sure that is a valid conclusion anymore, after the last election. More people might believe that, but they are NOT currently voting.

I don't think 85 Republicans in congress believe that anymore after the vote yesterday.

I think the majority of the people will say "raise taxes to stop cuts, ESPECIALLY in Social Security and Medicare". California just proved that. Yes, California is quite strange, but as California goes, usually, so does the nation.
