'The right to self defense is inalienable. The choice on how best to defend oneself is personal and circumstantial."

The right to self defense is inalienable but so is the right of people around you to be and feel safe while you're playing detective or cowboy with a weapon.... I have more fear of neighbors with guns than I do of the small chance of someone breaking in....the nervous neighbor with a gun is there all the time whereas you exposure to criminal is limited. You don't have the right to smoke in my presence and I don't think you have the right to handle a gun in my presence. The 2nd does not give an "individual" the right to possess a gun.

"When the government can guarantee zero assaults, violent crimes, and murders I will reconsider your claim."

Not very likely with 300 million guns in the nation...they could do a much better job at giving you that guarantee with strict gun controls...
