I care about what AAPL will do at Macworld. Looks like Steve and Larry & Co. stand a good chance of beating some folks to the punch if they play their cards right: <http://biz.yahoo.com/finance/971203/intel_intc_o_develo_1.html> Merced's big "plus" is that it takes advantage of a 64-bit architecture, is that it? And is that why Apple is looking to develop for Intel-based systems? I just don't get it. Merced (if it ever makes it to market <gg>) is going to have to blow the doors off of MOT's latest PPC, which by that time could be running no hotter than a 3-watt bulb at over 400Mhz.
