Good post.

<<We have income inequality because income tax rates on the wealthy are still too low, and so are the rates on the estate tax. Then there are the crazy things like carried interest by hedge funds being taxed at low rates instead of the earned income rates.

I am all for eliminating the cap on the Social Security tax but Obama has already caved on things that were easier to get.

I am all for reducing the budget of the War Department, but if you want to throttle that beast then eliminate the all volunteer force, bring back the draft, and impose an automatic 30% income tax surcharge on everyone making $100K or more any year in which the U.S. engages in armed combat for any reason. We ought to pay for our wars in real time.

If you really want to attack income inequality lets deal with cheap foreign labor and environmental destruction. How about a significant tariff on countries with low wage rates and weak environmental policy. You want to sell goods in our country you play by our rules. Don't like it? Tough.
