I have been posting a bit about the future and I wonder if I have hit hard enough on the REAL change going on. It's not the devices, its the change in the ability to communicate. It is changing that more than anything. On Facebook, my dance crowd gets little gatherings going by posting a party somewhere, people post if they will be there, and "bingo." we are all together. Someone wants to say goodbye because they are relocating, put it up on Facebook, and 15 people show up. Figure out how hard that would have been to get done just five years ago. A friend is back on the mainland, dancing in Denver, he has pictures of him doing so on line last night, and we comment about it.

These sound minor, but they have made for a huge difference in socializing. I seem to be the only one without a smart phone, but the rest put their's on the table when they go out, even before they sit down.

That article I just posted about car connectivity made me think of all this. Companies will pay part of the cost of your car use to get on your software. This will be a bit rough and offputting as it gets going, but will smooth out as we find out how to work with it to our advantage.

Connectivity and speed. Growing and growing.
