Hi Ox, they did have a 2 for 1 split in there since 1997.

They pay a 36 cent dividend annually.

THIS YEAR THEY BOUGHT VSEA - A VERY GOOD COMPANY AFTER THEY TRASHED AMAT'S EFFORTS IN ION IMPLANTATION.

Every March for the last 3 years Amat has raised their dividend a penny( quarterly) this year if done again it would be 40 cents annually.

Amat has founfd support at 10 for several years. This month it looks like 11.00 might be the new floor?

Their efforts into solar have been a large burden it appears to me.

The pallet of equipment they make is broadly viewed as the best in many categories.

If they ever get back in the low to mid 10's I'll rebuy them and sell puts far out for some cash (hopefully).

Since they are so close to their low - they represent a low risk high yield stock to accumulate IMO.

Nothing wrong with getting paid to wait.

Can't really think pf anyone in this sector that has been stellar unles it was getting a huge premium on a merger deal - proof to me there is deep value in this overly depressed stock/sector.
I do not like the options excesses either - but surely seems part of this sector and a price to pay for talent - which is a factor.
