Sprint teases “Windows Phone 8 is coming soon!”

Sprint is the only US carrier not to have a Windows Phone 8 handset, and has been rather ambivalent about supporting the OS, famously saying they were waiting to see if it would sell before jumping in.

It seems that is about to change, as Sprint’s support page now has the above message:

Learn more about Windows Phone 8

Windows Phone 8 is coming soon

The message dates from only 3 days ago, on the 3rd January, and suggests we may see a Windows Phone 8 handset on Sprint sooner rather than later.

The company has in fact confirmed as far back as November that they will be carrying a Windows Phone 8 handset, then telling PCMag “Sprint and Microsoft are partnering to bring Windows Phone 8 to Sprint’s customers – operating on its 4G LTE network – next year.” It is nice to see Sprint follow through on that commitment.

Given Sprint’s good relationship with HTC, it seems likely we will see at least one handset from that OEM. Do our readers think we will see any others? Let us know below.
