Nothing wrong with getting paid to wait.

Wait for what? Over the past 4 years, the company has a total restructuring expense of $580 million, which averages to over $130 million a year in restructuring charges. During the same period KLAC had $34 million and LRCX had slightly over $100 million in restructuring expenses.

Wait for them to figure out how to restructure again?

IMO, they have become a sloth and have stayed a sloth for a very, very long time. They seem quite comfortable being a sloth.....

Why haven't they been able to get it done under Splinter's watch? Why do other companies in their segment do it better financially?

Maybe you are comfortable waiting and watching for next year's massive restructuring expense? I would think that by now, there would be some area in their financials which would show where all this restructuring is paying off!
