180 million smartphones shipped in Q3'12 with 45% YoY growth. Assuming for the full year, 700+ million smartphones sold in 2012, that will mean a 10% market share would require 70+ million smartphone units in 2012. Based on 2012 of 45% growth, we are looking at 100+ million in 2013. That means 25+ million per quarter. So WP8 will have to sell 25+ million per quarter (from all WP8 vendors combined) in 2013 to achieve double digit 10% market share. Who here thinks WP8 can do that in 2013?

Not I. Would not dream of it. Which is why I cleared out of NOK today, ahead of the coming Nokia losings report, on the 24th.

Including Chinese manufacturers gunning for Nokia and everybody W8 else, I never humbly guess no more than 10 million per quarter, from all WP8 manufacturers, combined.

Shipped, not sold!
