DXY looks like it can bust $81 very soon. Usually, nothing good happens when the dollar takes a parabolic move higher. GLD is sitting on a major battleground at $160 as it flattens out from last year. I don't want to be a part of that battle either.

I never thought the tax part of the debate on the fiscal cliff had any real significance. However, the debt ceiling concerns every part of the market, especially banks. I think everyone will hope things go as smoothly, but I think the Republicans are going to block the debt ceiling unless the Democrats offer entitlement reforms. Frankly, I don't think they will be willing to offer any compromise, and just keep demanding more tax reform.
