Microsoft is king in county www5.zdnet.com

Sort of the calm before the storm on my favorite subject these days. Not much of a story here, but I take what I can get.

"In the past couple of weeks Microsoft has been under some pressure and scrutiny, and my feeling was that the antitrust criticism wasn't warranted," resolution sponsor Kent Pullen said. "I felt it was time to send a message that we on the King County Council wanted to make a statement that Microsoft is allowed to compete." Pullen said he had no contact with Microsoft regarding the resolution.

Nah, of course not. I'm sure there were calls from a few concerned shareholders though. Nothing wrong with that, either, but Microsoft ought to be able to do better than a resolution from the King County Council. Of course, there's always my good buddy Slade Gorton, Mr. Salvage Rider, looking out for our best interests in the Senate.

Cheers, Dan.
