Obama demonstrated to America that David Letterman was his kindred spirit by appearing on Letterman’s late-night show twice after Letterman’s repeated revolting smears of Sarah Palin’s daughter.

Obama’s appearances were endorsements of the show’s host; they were pay-back for a job well done. On the occasion of one of Obama’s appearances he had snubbed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he couldn’t meet with the Israeli head of state because he had a “scheduling conflict.”
