The last three mass shootings are a good example of why that's not necessarily true...the shooters in Aurora and Arizona would not have them if mental screenings were in place, and the fellow in CT would not necessarily get one from him mom if she had been more careful and did not have access to AR15s or high cap magazines. These are examples of where education, access and gun screenings, uniformly enforced across the country, could have prevented or certainly mitigated the effect of the attacks. Al
