The only upside to registration is after the police find your (reported) stolen gun at a crime scene you may be able to get your property returned. The left have been pushing for a long time for the owner to be responsible for crimes committed with his stolen gun. So far it has been shot down, but in today's environment, I wouldn't bet on it. guns.com
