Gruntal weighs in: RESEARCH ALERT- Gruntal cuts 3Com EPS view NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Gruntal & Co said analyst David Takata cut second quarter and fiscal 1998 earnings per share esimates for 3Com Corp. -- Q2 cut to $0.02 from $0.52, fiscal 1998 cut to $1.23 from $2.17. -- Company said Tuesday that earnings would be far below estimates. ---------------- Can you guys and gals believe that Paul Johnson, the old USRX bear, raised 3Com from hold (I think) to strong buy, and on CNBC no less, from what I heard. Doesn't make any sense. DK
