I keep thinking about the - mostly neglected by analysts and press alike - Nokia Asha line. There is no reason why it could not benefit from the software side of Nokia's imaging tech, while still leaving the physical camera sensor size small and cheap. There is also no reason why the Asha line cannot compete in the cutthroat, dirt cheap African, Indian and Chinese markets: it does what all other similarly priced phones do and then some. While the 1st world is fixated on Nokia's W8 phones, Nokia could hit the ball out of the ballpark with its least expensive line of Ashas - now correctly labeled as smartphones - in the 2nd and 3rd world. Gonna keep a much closer tab on the Asha line. Because the Series 40 OS powering the latest Ashas is clearly alive and kicking butt. Methinks Nokia's home grown and maturing S40 OS is what Elop talked about - not Android - when he said Nokia is not necessarily all about W8, always dreaming ahead... Bottom line, you really scored with that latest NOK gamble of yours. Congrats again! :-)))
