Use your browser for Etrade and banking only. Don't go anywhere else on the Internet with that. Get another browser to surf the web. The Java problem is being fixed. If you only visit your Etrade account your risks of infection are extremely low. Don't lose sleep over it. If you like to browse all sorts of web sites, then your risk goes way up, and not just because of Java, but other exploits.
