Hi Mike,
I'm new to this discussion but it sure seems interesting...
I have a side thought... about some other physics phenomena that might also be somehow related. That is the "cold fusion" stuff that blew through a few years back and then pretty much dissappeared because of its ability to be so finicky to reproduce. Since it seemed to rely so heavily on PGM's might not it be a characteristic of cluster physics?

My other question is to try to understand the nature of these clusters. What atomic elements do they primarily consist of?
Are the PGM elements just a few atoms of many in these clusters or
are they the majority?
