We agree on something! Good. <I believe that the next ~10 years or less will show major events that have no parallel anywhere in all of Earth's recorded history, and on balance they'll be very positive for the future of mankind... in spite of.... > You'd have to go back to the invention of DNA for a comparable phase change, not just to the beginning of recorded history. Major paradigm shift happens.

While Global Alarmists, Doomsters and general Fear-Mongers add the <...truly massive pain, many deaths and much other ugly stuff during the same period. >, that is not a slam-dunk bet. It could well be that despite the 7,000,000,000 global experiment in human existence, we avoid those quite possible catastrophic calamities and sort of blunder through in a by and large okay way to the Promised Land, Petapixel Paradise and Unprecedented Utopia.

There is such vast economic advantage in myriad technological, scientific and economic developments that it could well be that there is huge spare capacity to tide people over to their natural life-spans while development continues apace. That's what has happened over the last 60 years despite Club of Rome Doomsterism and general Malthusian predictions. 60 years ago, the fear was more of hordes in India dying in famine. Now it's more along the lines of an obesity pandemic arriving in India and whether they can economically catch up to China which has gone from Mao's murderous maelstrom and famine to challenging for economic pre-eminence and 1.3 billion people doing okay and increasingly not bad. Such trends are our friends.
