My point, again, is that Android is still fragmented where ever you go.

You seem to contend that Apple has to compete at the low end. If so, does that mean they have to make cheap non-smart phones as well?

Market share for sake of market share is not the answer. If it was then BMW and Mercedes would be building cheap cars for the developing markets also.
