Hello Fred....Compaq is a Banyan Vines shop. I visited their Houston plant and offices three years ago. They were happy with Banyan as their lead O/S on the server. I don't believe that they switched over to NetWare or at least I did not hear about it.

From the recent ads., CPQ seems to be supporting MSFT more than NOVL.

FORD and MCI switched over recently and is the reason I am using them as examples to industry trend. I am not ging to act nieve and pretend all is rosy at NOVL. I know it is not. Ford and MCI are fortune 500 companies and a large loss in revenue for NOVL.

The savings from laying of 1000 intelligent people should have generated more in the last quarter for NOVL. It did not. I have sympathy for the people who lost their jobs. It should have been the BOD that should have been given the boot along with our Dr.

I agree NOVL is far from history...and so is Apple Computer. But being far from history does not make it a good investment long term. At some point, NOVL will need a stronger arm to hold onto. Apple did that with MSFT although they should have sold out to SUNW at $24 when it was offered. Look at the mess they are in now and NOVL is following the same footsteps.
NOVL is going to take $9/share from a buyer the way they are going.
Better sell out today and get at least $12 1/2.
