A large and powerful government is the first thing needed to establish a police state. It seems you are against moving in that direction. If so, you should be for limiting government to the protection of human rights and for reducing the size of our engorged provider-government. You should support the notion that the size of government must to be limited to performing the essential functions needed protect the rights of citizens (Justice system, national defense, viable economic system, etc). The current status of American government far exceeds what is needed to perform its essential role. America is blessed with tremendous resources, which when left to free market development have produced amazing results... wealth now being squandered in a wasteful manner. What do you think a large government will do if its decent productive population began to resist and rebel against such improvident behavior? It has already started talking about it ... first disarm them, then bring more armed guards to supervise their everyday activities. We are already well on our way to a police state tejek...wake up.
