I don't think Art Rooney Sr was a bootlegger. He was a gambler and ran race tracks and then parlay his winning to build the Steelers. He was a benevolent man. A great person who was so humble, and still lived in the same house even after he became rich. Art Sr always had several good cigars in his pocket and Terry Bradshaw used to grab one or two sticks.

Compare Art Sr to Alex Spanos who took advantage of the citizens of San Diego by tricking the then mayor of that city - Susan Golding to agree for guaranteeing sell out home games. The city had to pay him for the empty seats. What a blood sucker he was, and the city did not have enough money to repair the streets.
