Lyndon Johnson was not "selected to lend gravitas to JFK." He was selected to get southern state votes. The power behind crooked LBJ was Sam Rayburn, who was also from Texas and controlled the US congress with an iron hand. Kennedy and Johnson hated each other violently. If Kennedy had not made a deal with Johnson he would never have gotten to be president. As it was JFK actually lost to Nixon, but Sam Giancana and Mayor Daley held up the turning in of the votes from Cook County until they determined how many votes JFK needed to win the state of Illinois and turned in a little over that exact amount LATE the following day. In an attempt to shield LBJ from involvement, LBJ's wife Ladybird was used on a number of companies that skyrocketed in worth because of their involvement in supplies for the Vietnam war. WHILE HE WAS PRESIDENT LBJ forced Texas TV station owners and other business owners to sell their businesses against their will to 'companies' connected with Ladybird. And WHO became president when JFK was killed in TEXAS?
