I had a big dog flap on my door in Austin, Tx. and was being repeatedly burglarized through it. Uh?? Why didn't you have a large pit bull to go with your big dog flap? Chain the dog just inside the flap. I'm sure that cannot count as a booby trap, but it would function very nicely as one. Can you imagine a crook trying to convince His Honor that he wasn't expecting a dog inside the dog flap he crawled through? LOL!
