Well, it's always hard to get emphirical evidence of a tool improving or degrading development time, but any number of my friends who used to code in SW and code in VB today are always pulling their hair out trying to get VB to do what they know would be straight forward in SW. I truely believe that you will add significantly to your development time if you use these other tools. What you may gain in reliable customer support you will lose in productivity.
